Are there any interesting tourist destinations in the local area?

Yes, there is plenty for visitors to see and do. Don't miss the thermal baths at Salsomaggiore, just a 10-minute drive from Fidenza, or the small historical castle town of Pellegrino Parmense, where visitors can taste and buy typical products of the region, such as special breads, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, honey and local wines. Continuing down into the valley towards Fidenza, see the medieval town of Vigoleno. Please see our local attractions section for more detailed information.

Any suggestions for how to spend a really special weekend away with a difference?

Yes. After a day of shopping at Fidenza Village, speed off in a 1966 Spitfire or 1969 Duetto Spider car on a journey of discovery! Slow Drive, in collaboration with the Association of the Castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza, offers an 115km-self-guided itinerary in a classic hire car taking in historic castles and beautiful countryside. The trip starts in the Apennine foothills, moves to the fortress of Sala Baganza, then heads south to Felino, where there is a castle to visit before lunch in a fine restaurant. Get back in the car for Torrechiara, home to one of the largest and best preserved castles in Italy, and then on to the Parma/Reggio Emilia border to admire the castle at Montechiarugolo, famed for its Cesare Baglione frescoes.

Please see our Tours and Trips section for more recommendations.

Do you have any recommendations for cyclists or walkers?

Yes, plenty. Cyclists can try out one of the many routes in the Apennines, while mountain bikers will find action-packed trails in the Monto Fuso Provincial Park and the Parco dei Cento Laghi. The Apennines also offer fantastic opportunities for trekking and horse-riding.

I’d like to arrive in style at Fidenza Village. Can I arrange a limo service?
