Levi's

The founder of Levi’s originally set out to make his fortune in the California Gold Rush of the mid-nineteenth century. Levi Strauss moved from New York to San Francisco and established a wholesale dry goods business. One day he received a letter from a customer, a tailor who used metal rivets to make trousers stronger for the labouring men who bought them. The two men were granted a patent on May 20, 1873 and the blue jean was born.
